2000 Expy, AWD 5.4 with 51,000 on the clock, was running great after installing new fuel pump and cleaning the injectors. Installed new Flowmaster cat-back exhaust system, drive it around and running great. Started it up this morning and it was missing and barely running. Opened the hood to check it out and noticed that the right cat was glowing ORANGE hot!
Checking it out and pulled codes after running it for 15 minuets. I have miss fire detected on 1,5,3,4. What would cause this sudden poor running? BTW, the cat isn't glowing now, just running really bad. When I try to rev it up, it sounds like an exhaust leak at the right doughnut gasket???

As that the right cat as sitting in the driver's seat (correct Ford-speak) or as you were staring over the radiator at the engine (common person-speak).

Good, wanted to make sure we weren't bass-ackwards. With three misfiring cylinders on Bank 1, it's not surprising that the converter on that side was getting that hot, a lot of fuel was getting dumped in there.
There are any number of possibility, but I usually try to focus on whatever was done most recently to see if something was done wrong. IOW, if it worked fine before I messed with it, I must have done something that is adversely affecting it now.
