My 2016 6.7 owner's manual (diesel supplement) shows the replacement mileage for the fuel filters as 22,500 miles.

To give you guys an idea. I just bought a 2015 F350 CC DRW 4x4 last week. It was a Ford Certified vehicle with 33,700miles on it. After buying it, I noticed that the fuel pump sounded a little loud on it. Service manager said it was normal. "Some are loud, some aren't". Then Sunday it got down to 18*. I had already decided to swap out the fuel filters before heading to Virginia pulling my enclosed trailer tomorrow.

Anyway, on the way to Oreilly's to get the Motorcraft filters ($79 by BTW). The low fuel pressure warning message came up. I noticed the truck was abnormally sluggish that morning prior to seeing the warning message. Well, after getting to my shop, I pulled them out. This is what I saw from the water/fuel separator. Filter is supposed to be white.

And, you cannot hear the fuel pump anymore. So, I guess the "some" that are loud need to have this done.

I will be changing these filters out every 15K.

Great to know thanks, would love for someone that has changed it out before to post a video if possible. I will be stocking up on filters so I can change them out on a regular basis.

So what did they "certify", that it was indeed a vehicle? Now you need to check the brakes and anything else that they said was checked.

Oh believe me, I will.

The truck has been great otherwise.

don't know if this holds true for these filters but I know the factory filters in my previous truck were stamped FF on them.

that would be a direct indicator right there of the lack of maintance.

And, that is exactly why I don't buy used cars, trucks, or bikes anymore.
