I'm pretty sure it's a dual diaphragm. It looks like the ones I've seen on here.

So I can go to a parts place and just order the stuff I need?[/QUOTE]

If I were you, I would verify what I have (MC bore diameter and booster type) BEFORE ordering/buying any parts.

[Don't know what the deal is with part of the quotes being placed outside the gray box???]

Got me

Thanks again bud, Todd.

It's funny, I keep pulling the cluster out of the box just to look at it ( or maybe to make sure it's really there? )

I also got another project done , the Wifes Daily driver (my old commuter) was looking pretty bad , Paint was de-laminating on the side Mirror, roof and hood .Also the front bumper was stone chipped to hell from my 100 miles a day commute . So i decide to sand down the problem areas and respray them . it's a 2008 Kia Optima now with 190k on the odometer .

It's nice to have clean parts to work with and will look really good when they finally get installed on the truck.

Do you have the kingpin bushings installed into the spindles?

If you don't have them, I would suggest getting a set of 3/8"-24 Speed Bleeders to put into the calipers and the rear wheel cylinders. This will be a BIG time saver when it comes time to bleed out the brake system. --they are Dorman part number 12701.

When I removed the old bronze kingpin bushings from my '77 F100 spindles, I used a 3/8" drive 11/16" deep well socket and a 6" 3/8" drive extension on the socket. I put the spindles in my 20-ton press and drove the bushings right out of their bores.

I also used the 11/16" socket to press the new bronze bushings in with. I just flipped the socket upside down, when pressing the new bushings in, so there would be a larger, flat surface area of the socket pressing against the bushings to keep from deforming the lip on them.

Just remember on that reproduction Corvette MC that the ports on it are configured backwards from a Ford MC.

The forward most port on the Corvette MC goes to the front brakes and is plumbed to the primary side of the brake valve (the end of the valve that has 3 ports on it).

That GM MC is 1/16th of an inch larger in bore diameter than what I'm running on a factory (1975 F350) Bendix dual diaphragm booster. The 1/16th inch increase in bore diameter will translate to 6% less output pressure (for the same amount of leg force on the brake pedal, compared to a 1-1/16" bore MC) and a 6% increase in the amount of leg force that would have to be applied to the brake pedal to get the same amount of braking force, compared to a bore that's 1/16th inch smaller.

You may be OK with the pedal feel or, it may turn out that you're not ok with it or the distance it may possibly take to get the truck to finally come to a stop. Only time will tell the tale on that.

thanks Ultraranger
my current setup is Power all wheel drum with a blown out booster (vacuum not hooked up ) so it takes a lot of foot pressure to get stopped . So I am thinking any working boosted brake is going to be better than what i have now .

I have enough private stash $ to cover rest of suspension needs , tie rods , drag link ,king pin kit.... so back together at stock height for now then hopefully in future I can order the drop beams . auggh
