Cps

Are the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors the same sensor or 2 individual sensors on a 95 powerstroke? My tach is not moving when cranking and I just replaced what I think is the crankshaft sensor and cannot find another sensor that looks like a camshaft sensor.i was told by a mechanic that there is two seperate sensors

They are the same. Located at about the 10 oclock position on the front of the motor above the harmonic balancer.

Why dosent my tach move when cranking? I have put in two diffrent CPS and the tach dosent move.how can I test the tach to see if it is bad? I don't know for sure if the tach itself ever worked, so before I blame the CPS I want to verify the tach.

Check the wires going to the CPS also. Especially right at the plug. Make sure they haven't broken or gotten melted from fuel and oil getting on them and are touching each other.

Does the WTS light come on?

What issues are you having with the above-mentioned sensors and GP relay?

Just a word of caution here......you should never put known good electrical parts on a truck having issues until you have figured out what caused that part to fail. The reason is, if there is a wiring problem that has burned up a an electrical part, it could do the same to the known good part you just put on. You could try putting your PCM or IDM in another truck, and see if that truck has the same issues as yours.

the truck does not run.i took it to a half assed mechanic shop for a intermittent no run condition.long story short the truck was diagnosed with a bad IPR,the truck hasn't run since.the WTS was not working and I traced it to a hole burnt through the PCM board. I have replaced the PCM and now my WTS flickers and the GPR and relay make a ticking noise.i haven't figured out why yet.the wires to the IPR/fuel bowl are burnt up.(I have a new harness to put in)The IPR still needs to be changed and the tach dosent move while cranking.I have tried diffrent GPR and relay, diffrent IPR,and CPS and I can't get it to run.i also have a new ICP and EBP coming in the mail.my snapon my 2500 scanner used to communicate with my truck it no longer does but will power up fine

Ok I got a flickering WTS light that won't shut off?i pulled the PMS and open it and gave the board a good look around, everything looks in order no burnt spots like my original PMS.the ticking, clicking GPR and Relay really have me stumped. The GPR has less than a 1000 miles on it so I don't see how that could be bad

Check your grounds real good. I think there is a ground near the pcm on the firewall. Unhook the gpr too.
