Is there a way to reprogram the gauges in the the first gen's and maybe change sensors correspondingly to make them more accurate? Would a tuner be able to access the cluster?
I don't mind putting in aftermarket at all, except I don't really want to give up all the real estate....especially the the handle on the A pillar since I'm a fat boy, and really like to use it 😁
There are companies that produce digital gauges designed to fit in place of the OEM analog gauges. How accurate they may be is a matter open to discussion, but the fact they are numbers with decimal increments would seem to support the idea they are more accurate.
There are some custom gauge clusters available, although more for the
f-150's. The ones I saw were 4-$500. Digital clusters are way more than that last I checked and honestly don't appeal to me that much.
I like the stock gauge setup, but would rather it be more accurate to what's going on in the engine.
Just figured somebody way more smart than me has toyed around with it a little bit on here....
Scangauge looks pretty cheesy to me...I know they're popular on here and I'm sure they work great, just too....homemade looking. If I can't figure anything out with the stock setup, I'll prolly do an ultra-gauge setup. They look pretty legit. Anyone have any input on those?
