I had to make a piece to fill the gap in the center.......

Finally got it all welded together. Piece of cake, right?

Got the rear fenders fitted to the new tail pan, they weren't as far off as I thought.
Also patched the left lower 1/4 panel.
Started working on the rear door again....more pics next week

Pretty much what WB said. I never imagined you'd pull that off to that level with what you had to work with.

Thanks guys.
I even surprised myself.....I'm pretty happy with it. Motivated me to get on with the rest of it and get it gone!

Some progress on the rear door...

Since the wooden frame work was long gone, I had to add some supports, mainly around the latch.
Then I rolled some beads in a piece of 20 ga with some help from a buddy. This will be the inner skin. The holes on the right edge are access for the hinge bolts.
Hope to have the door completed this week.......

Rear door all welded together. Nice and rigid now! It opens, closes and even latches.

Scott, you are killing all of us with your metal work. Having the rear door latch properly is a huge accomplishment!

Great work man! I have been following along. My dad's working on another rare 35 Ford this year. Here's his Phaeton. It's getting a full restoration, luckily the body is pretty much mint.
