The EQ can be Easily Molunted Where the Factory Clocks are/suppost to be in the 80-86 trucks if the EQ isn't that large. If your truck doesn't have a Factory Clock Look right above Where the Stereo Mounts and You'll see a Place to cut out for it.

I just took the old one out, used the metal bracket, and cut it open wide enough to fit my cdplayer, and bent the tabs that have the holes for the shaft mount, and used those holes to mount my radio. not perfect, but the radio is mounted very solid

Herm. Thats the Place where the factory clocks are in those year trucks. If you've got a stand alone EQ measure and see. Because that hole can be Cut larger then the Cut out pantel there. Most EQ's out now are small enough to fit in it's place. My Kenwood KDC Cdplayer on my 86 I just had to shave a little off the Factory Plastic Radio pantel to install It. It holds well enough it don't Skip even when out playing offroad in a 2wd truck.

I've seen an equalizer in the glovebox on an '80. That would work if you weren't going to be messing with it a lot.
