Another eec iv question
I am ready to swap out a MaF 5.0 from my 95 4x4 Aode truck and put in a 5.8.
I dont have the 5.0 eec identification available right now. But the existing 5.0 eec does not have a j3 port. I remember that.
I found a 5.8 eec number F5TF-12a650-TB. My question is the number a fed emissions MAF, 95 5.8 eec?
Finding a BTA ca emissions eec is like finding teeth on a chicken.
Live in Ca so i have to keep things on the up and up as far as tuning and such things.

All EECs have a J3 port.
Is this a stock 5.8 you're installing? If so it won't need any tuning, just plug it in and give the 5.0 PCM a chance to learn what it needs. You can't put a 5.8 EEC in the truck anyway, that motor was never mated with a 4R70w so there are no 5.8 EECs for that trans.

1.7 rockers, 3" exhaust w shortie headers, gt40 heads. Nothing special.
So ur saying the stock 5.0 eec will run a "stock" 5.8.
And that the Aode trans will not run off the TB eec. Correct?
I plan on buying the eec of it os the correct one for the motor and swap in a different tranny.

The limited documentation i can find said the TB eec is a MAF with e4od trans and that the eec wouldnt know the difference between the e4od and aode trans.
Is this not correct?
And will the Aode stand up to a 5.8 used for towing? Or should i replace w the 4r70w trans now?

You have a 4R70w already and yes it would stand up to the 5.8.
