2011 6.7 with 3.55 gearing. Just got the truck. And it seems when its cold the truck will rev high in 3rd gear and then sort of fall into 4th gear sort of losing power for a split second. If I gas it hard, its not as bad. Usually only happens like I said when its cold.
Check the trans fluid its full and looks clean. My guess is some sort of sensor or the computer???

Congrats on the truck, nards444. I'd recommend getting this into the hands of your local Ford Dealership; since it only happens when it's cold, you may want to leave it overnight. How many miles are on your truck?
90k. My guess its along the same lines as the guy in the other thread. something with solenoids
Thanks for the quick response, nards444. Let me know if you decide to get your dealer involved. After they've diagnosed the truck, I'll be able to research ways to help.
Hello,
Brand new to the site, i have a 2011 F250 with 87,000miles and am having the identical issues. After 3 trips to the Dealer, they rest it once and said it would re-learn my driving. The other two times they said they couldn't find anything wrong. Its hard to see how because it does it every morning and afternoon when the truck sits for a while. I just wanted to see if you had any luck with this issue.
Thanks,

Welcome.
Find out if the solenoids have been replaced on your truck.
If you haven't had firmware updates on the TCM, they need to do that after as well but that is part of the procedure.
2011 F350. Same problem. Just started a couple of days ago. Only after truck sat overnight. Shifting is sluggish, then bangs into gear. Feels very "off".
So I guess its a "known" problem with a "known" no help from FORD. Sigh. I have been through this before with our local Ford dealer (different issue, though) and I'm SO not looking forward to this.
You would think if SO many people have the same problem, they would take it serious, figure it out, and bring on a FIX. Instead of putting people through hell trying to get this taken care of (and from reading many forums its simply NOT being taken care off, people told to "live with it"
As much as I love my truck, I'm just not sure I ever want to deal with FORD again. In any shape or form.
Please let me know if anyone had that fixed. Truly fixed, not just for a few days or couple of weeks. What was done. What Ford said/did about it.
Appreciate it
Lucy
I had the hard downshift to first gear. took it to my dealer and after $1300, they replaced the solenoid and a couple of wiring harnesses, and 10 days later its back. So back to the dealer. I'm going to put my Bully Dog programmer in to see if that helps.
