I;ve never seen one at work. I don't know if it's just grind to fit or what. I'm guessing you measure the drum and there is a setting adjustment on the arcing machine with measuring increments on it.
Front bed panel should be pretty easy to make. I made the one in the rpu from the twine box lit off an old baler, e few passes though the bead roller, break the edges....
That's a beautiful job on that front panel. I'll just run some sheet metal through my bead roller, oh wait I don't have one so I'd have to pound the ribs in it with a rock. I planned to use pipe at the top. I have a bunch of 1/8" plate (or is it sheet metal?) from a fire engine tank that should make a good rib-less panel. It won't be as nice as yours for sure. And thanks both of you for info on the shoe arcer.
Yeah, bead roller is just another tool Gary, $99 from harbor freight. This from a guy who doesn't even own a table saw.
But it is a really fun thing to own, making floor pans ect.
I have a 3hp commercial table saw under the trees with a tarp on it because I have gotten two better ones over the years at yuppie yard sales. Dang it, maybe we have to meet in the middle someday. Is Scott's (Tinman) place half way? I promised my wife I'd take her to that beautiful place she saw in my pictures...
I don't have woodworking stuff because I have a 20x24 shop and sawdust and grease don't mix well, either way. I already really have to shove stuff around to put a car inside. And not very big cars at that.
I get it. I will have to roll the woodie outside when I start doing the actual woodwork on it. There will be a lot of shavings and dust as I shape the individual pieces on the truck. With the way my shop is set up, every nook and crannie will be full of grease soaked wood chips and then next time I go to use my torch, kaboom! I already have a thickness planer beside my vehicle space, but the dust collector does a good job on a planer. Still a bit scary when I'm making fire or sparks.
