Good info. My 99 SD has the same plug, saw it when doing a speaker install.

Agreed, I'll be referencing this when it comes time to throw my '08 OEM full power everything mirrors on the X. I hate wiring so I am procrastinating... Wiring up the power fold and telescope does not make me think pleasant thoughts.

Haha! I am going through all the wiring in my early 01 right now. The 05 mirrors I got have all the same connections/plug as the 08+ with exception of the power fold. I was able to get both sides of the plug and wiring from the doner 05 F250, so I just have to splice my wiring to it. No pigtails here. It appears ALL the wires needed for the mirrors are present in the door of my early 01 already. Including the brown wire for the parking lights! I will add the info/pics to the tech folder linked threads on power folding mirrors.

I was an Electronics Tech before I became a crew chief on the MH-53s in the Navy, so this is all really pretty easy for me. That was, however, many moons ago...

Former AM2(AW) here from EP-3's and 18's

I too have an early '01, so this brings me hope.

Electric motion is round that you see and heat is the 2 pin square. That looks exactly like the speaker hook up wire! What about Mirror signal? maybe I know that was 03 but were your doors ever replaced from rust or whatever?

I added a bunch of pics and info for wiring up tow mirrors to our 01 rigs. Check the thread in the sticky or just go to the one started by ATG Tuning.

These are the speaker plugs for my 99 SD, however it looks like the black plug would work for the heater element on the early trucks.
