You have just bought the truck and it was messed up or,
You have just bought the truck and a couple days later it failed or,
You just got it back from the body shop and it didn't work or,
You happened to have a burnt out bulb and after you replaced it it quit working or,
You just installed a big stereo and it started failing or,
I am I full of it, and you have owned this truck for years with no problems, and all of a sudden this starts happening?
This is a pretty strange problem. Pushing the switch half-way and only getting marker lights is normal. Pushing it in all the way, gaining headlamps but losing the markers is pretty strange, especially after replacing the switch. Try to see if you can think of anything related and we will try to figure it out.
The haynes manuals on these trucks have some diagrams.
You can go to autozone.com, and click on repair info, and they have some very basic diagrams for free.
The problem with shorting something out on a vehicle, is the factory bundles all the wires tightly together. Sometimes if one gets hot, it will melt together with the others and cause very hard to find problems.
