Don't know too terribly much about it but if i told an auto shop I want straight pipes with 3 inch tips how exactly would they set that up? Like I said i'm mechanic when it comes to my truck but basically i just want to remove the muffler and install a pipe and then run the tips.
---also what price range am i looking at?
------ or do you have a better and cheaper way to get a deep exhaust sound?
THANKS
In my opinion, straight pipes do not have a good sound. I prefer dual exhaust with glass packs or if higher than stock horsepower some good performance mufflers...
More details on what you are working on? Exhaust sound is different for different engines and whether carburetor or fuel injection.
Get a muffler or two. My buddy has a 79 f150 with a built 429 with headers, and dual glasspacks. It's loud but alos has a nice deep tone when you get on it. Completely straight piped exhaust (on a gas truck) doesn't sound really good in my opinion. What motor do you have?
