I tend to believe Joe basardi over most others

I am by no means a meteorologist but an El Niño year means Pacific water temps are warmer on the surface thus creating a higher push on the jet stream allowing an unseasonal ply warmer vortex arc over the Midwest and a lower dip towards the Atlantic northeast allowing an artic frontal boundary to slide it's way lower into the southeastern states or so I've heard.
