I wonder If anyone would have a pair of exhaust manifolds for a 337
8EQ or Lincoln? Never seen cracks that bad, It will take 5lbs of brazing
rods for these especially on a 20,000 mile engine.....I can't seem to
get a hold of Chuck either. sam
repaired many in my life but look at the alignment ?
Boy, oh boy. Both flanges on the first port must be broken to be that far out of alignment, have to wonder how they did that.
If those are absolutely unavailable then you may have no option other than trying to put it back together.
I've never fixed one that bad either. I guess I would fix the flanges first, bolt it back up loose and if it will align go from there. With all the pre heating and long cool down you are right it will be quite a project.
I have never tried to repair anything cast iron. But I think I would maybe look for a set of shorties for that fix. I have a manifold set for my 226 that I managed to break one of the tabs off for the bolt. About had a cow. Do they make a welding rod that could go in my stick welder for such repairs? I'm interested to see how your fix comes out and how much time it took.
"Denverslim" on here had a couple of these engines, and "Dale Fairfax" has one in his F-100. Might PM them, neither are very active on here these days.
I have welded cast iron manifolds before using arc and a nickel rod, a real PITA. I think that I would consult a pro welder before I put any brass on them though.
