How to repair broken battery cable for E350 PSD?

When I dropped my 2 frame rail batteries I noticed the clamp on the positive battery cable was broke.

Does anyone know how to splice in a new clamp?

I checked online and a new battery cable is over $600. Has anyone ever had one of these repaired?

Ebay and the local parts store have them for a hefty price.

Pick and pull is an option. I would rather repair my OEM cable and be done.

If anyone wants to exchange a case of their favorite beer to repair this cable, PM me. I am not talking about cheap Miller Lite...24 bottles of the good stuff.

I buy battery cable ends from my local welding shop. They have crimp on and solder on ends, both will work.

I presume that it's basic slice, dice, splice and repair. I have never done it. I will go to harbor freight and get some lineman's pliers and attack the cables.

HF has a hyd. crimper for $55 that looks like it has decent reviews. With this crimper, you probably won't have to remove the complete harness. There are other hammer type crimpers that usually necessitate the removal of the harness.

Napa should have the battery terminals you need.
