Hey wanted to share a couple of pictures. Did this while waiting for seals to show up for the front axle. Used some sand paper, acetone to wipe it down, removed some rust bubbles with that rotary brush, and painted a bunch of light coats of self etching primer (many spots were paint bare) and spray on bed liner. Light coats are absolutely critical for a decent finish out of a rattle can. This is not the truck in my signature, my dad has 6 nearly identical 1st gen super dutys I work on.
Also threw on a set of new take off OEM mirrors from a 2008+ SD. Its the little things that make the truck!
Note: I was not too lazy to remove the license plate bracket. Said screw it after messing with the rusty bolts for 15 minutes!
Stuff I used was duplicolor bed liner from advance. I really like the spray bed liners for bumper use as they hide a lot of dents. I have had good luck with all brands, just dont mix them as they all appear a little different when sprayed (3m, rustoleum). Picture does not do it justice, had a great texture. Sprayed the whole thing from a foot away to get a nice mist, it will clump up if you try and get it on there too fast.
Also did the rear deck on the 1999 E350 Bucket Truck. Real easy to touch up.
