rebuild or replace?

As said in the title, I'm looking for some opinions on whether I should rebuild or replace my motor. It's a 300ci with 190k on it. It's been over heated several times since I bought it in April with 179k on it. By several, I mean at least 10 - 15 times sitting on the H. Recently I noticed that my coolant was black/brown and my oil looks suspiciously like coffee, which shouldn't be the case ssing as the entire cooling system was replaced at 185k and I just replaced the oil at 189k.
My conclusion is probably a blown head gasket or a cracked head. I have minimal white smoke during start up and acceleration, and some power loss. The motor has a very heavy tick.
Thoughts? Ideas? Solutions?

changing the oil and replacing the coolant will not completely clean the engine oil or cooling systems.. new oil and antifreeze will normally discolor in a older engine fairly fast.. not sure what you mean by "coffee'... a chocolate milk shake look to the oil or coolant would worry me about a head problem a lot more.. id run a compression and leak down test on the engine before rebuilding just to get a idea on what i am dealing with

I'd bet the head is cracked. I would look for another head, rebuild it, and swap it out. If your old head is in fact still good find a new owner for it.

The oil is foamy and light brown. The coolant was flushed then filled when it was replaced.
Can someone recommend a Thread with a head rebuild?
