I have had ATF underneath the Hydroboost for a few years now. Its not a bad leak but it does drop sometimes off the bottom of the unit. I have checked all the hose connections and they are dry. It is leaking only from the bottom area. Back in 2007 I had the cab off so the dealer could fix the headgaskets. Is there any o-rings or gaskets between the master cylinder and Hydroboost?
Between them, no, just the seal in the HB itself. With the cab off you have a higher chance that one of the many o-rings for the line fittings is damaged. If it's definitely not from the line then the best choice is a new HB unit.
The brake booster is not serviceable. As Jack stated, check the lines first and is okay you will need to replace the booster. It is not a bad job. You can use Mercon 5 ATF or PS fluid to refill the system.
Thank you guys for the replies!! Yesterday I decided to take the Master Cylinder off the hydroboost unit to see where the leak was coming from. There was a trail of ATF on the inside that leads to the little hole in the bottom of the unit. So I cleaned the master cylinder and the hydroboost up and put them back together. I don't know what I did but the leak is gone. Usually when I clean the fluid off the bottom it comes back immediately as soon as I take it for a drive. I drove it twice yesterday, parked in the garage and applied brakes and turned the wheel back and forth in he driveway several times and nothing. I'm glad but puzzled!! lol
