That dash is from an 05 I think. That hole is where the 4wd switch, rear power slide window, and reverse sensor switch would go if you have any of those things. There is a write up on switching the dash from an 05 and up to an earlier model. Not a plug and play mod.

A 2005-2007 dash is not a simple conversion for 1999-2004 trucks. I tried to do it on my 2004. Instead I wound up going with an Excursion upper panel and an 05-07 center lower. Worked out well and was relatively easy.
