trying to be proactive

I have a 07 6.0, with 115k and have had no major issues with truck love it actually but all I've done to it is a blue spring, coolant filter, edge attitude cts, to monitor everything, replace glow plug controller, oil changes every 5k, fuel every 10k, new batteries no major towing highway running well maintained, I keep reading about the numbers I should have, but I keep waiting to see if something bad is going to happen

I have a slight coolant leak on back pass side of block, just a little sepage nothing on ground after being parked for 10hrs, and also I noticed a little oil coming out of something on the driver valve cover just under degas tank, again don't know if these are going to be major issues, or just something to keep an eye

Like I said other then those 2 issues love the truck runs like a champ

The coolant leak on the passenger side is commonly the small blue hose on the EGR cooler. Just above the passenger side valve cover near the turbo mount. The oil leak is commonly the crankcase vent o-ring. If you remove the air cleaner (it's easier as an assembly) ther is a small "box" on the valve cover with a hose. It's a twist lock arrangement. Often the o-ring deteoriates and leaks crankcase oil/fumes.

Oil/coolant temp spread is getting up a little. Looks like an oil cooler is in your future but not quite yet. Coolant temp is a bit low. If the coolant is fresh maybe a thermostat would pick it up some. Factory troubleshooting guides list full temp as 195°. If you haven't changed coolant maybe a flush and tstat.

I'd check the things I mentioned above, they are just guesses. I'd clear up the leaks first.

Coolant was just done about 500 miles ago, it's also 35-45f outside, but definitely gonna adress the leaks, and start preparing for oil cooler, and maybe thermostat too, thanks for the insight

Yeah truck is great I think I'm just over worring a little to much, but wanna try and know what goes bad and fix before it does kind of thing I've learned alot from reading the posts, what to look for things like that, I've owned the truck for 4+yrs, owned since 45k, 3rd owner, and just wanna keep it around a long time no rust on bed, little on the half door bottom nothing major, but thanks again for your help and info

Like your thread title says, "proactive" is the key word here.
Anything you drive can have issues out of nowhere, but knowing what might be coming up can save one big $$$ down the road.

Good call

Hey, posting and asking questions is a lot cheaper than throwing parts at a truck.

These guys are all here to tell you whats up, and what to look for and guide us.

So many times I see or hear of people buying these 6.ohL and they do the so called "bulletproofing" right away without really looking at stats on the truck before going bananas, and sometimes unnecessary work causes more problems.

So good call with a post before hand.

Keep the eye on the ECT/EOT spread, and keep on truckin.....

Even though you have been a member since 2014, I see you don't post a lot.
So welcome to the forum Mikenski
