I have a 50 F-1 and the engine is about used up, smoking real bad. I love the charm of the flathead V-8 and want to find a solution. Should I replace it with a modern drivetrain or should I purchase a rebuild flathead. It would be great to just turn the key and go but maybe I will miss the excitement of never knowing if I will make it home without doing a road side fix. I fear a new flathead V-8 will be more than the truck is worth.
