This sounds cheap but are there any good monitoring alternatives to the scanguage 2 out there. I can hook up my SCT handheld and get some basic readings like oil and water temp's using data logging but i would like something like the SG2 without having to drop $100+ on it. All suggestions are appreciated and if there is not anything like that then ill just stop being cheap.
There are several smartphone apps. You'll just need an OBDII adapter. If you have a laptop, FORDScan is a free app that works well. Again, you'll just need the adapter $10-20 on eBay or Amazon. Here's some more info: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...eral-info.html
Thanks Rusty. For a IT Tech / part time wrench turner sometimes i miss do some terrible searches lol The Torque Pro with a bluetooth adapter is perfect for what i want
Unfortunately, the search feature here doesn't work very well. Easier to make notes of links to good stuff when you read it.
Many of the phone apps work surprisingly well and have a lot of features. A Bluetooth adapter is the handiest for monitoring but a wired connection is better for checking things before and during start up if you're troubleshooting. No lag time for the handshake.
Rusty I have access to a copy of AE for when i need to TS any issues that may arise so the slight latency time will not be an issue for everyday monitoring.
Bullitt i went with the torque for droid because of the nice low cost and the fact that i have an android tablet laying around that i can re-purpose for use with the app and at $30 total that is hard to beat
Thank you guys very much
also where are the options to add a signature and pick an avatar or is that only in for the paid members?

I did the same thing. Torque Pro, bluetooth adapter and a spare android tablet.
