I am changing the clutch on my 95 f150 4x4 with a 5.0. The factory manual talks about dowel pins between the pressure plate and clutch, but I didn't see any when I was taking it apart. Do 302 5 speeds have dowel pins in them? Thanks for your help,
The only dowel pins I've ever seen are between the block and bellhousing.
Your manual is messed up!
If the disc was pinned to the pressurre plate it would always be driven, even if disengaged.
I could (*maybe*) see the peessure plate having locating pins going into the flywheel for assembly on the line, but I haven't ever bought a replacement clutch that had them.
