This might be a silly question but which way does the water pump draw water, through the upper or lower radiator hose. My bronco is running fine but the upper rad hose collapses. I'm trying to figure out if it is my hose, thermostat, or a combo of both causing it. or if its just low on coolant.
Water exits the engine through the upper hose, and reenters the engine through the lower hose. A collapsing upper hose may mean you have a bad radiator cap or plugged overflow system. When do you see the hose collapsed? If it's only when the engine is cold (like first thing in the morning), you probably have a bad radiator cap which doesn't allow coolant from the overflow tank to be drawn back into the engine or a plugged overflow hose between the radiator and the overflow tank.
Thanks, should of check that before I posted such a idiotic question on here. I just check and it was so clogged I couldn't even blow through it. I took a wire and ran it through the hose, cleaned out all the goop and that fixed the problem. I'll start thinking before I start posting on here.
