It says over $60,000 spent on the truck. I assume the owner paid to have all the work done rather than do work himself. Notice the do-dad on the firewall over the air cleaner. To hold the centre of the hood up?
Looks like the pics were taken at different stages of work on the truck.
I have to believe there was a better way to run the exhaust. Also in some of the under pics there is a pipe coming out behind the front wheels. I am not seeing this in the around the truck pics.
I do like that it includes a 1 year warranty and shipping, but the cost is still way more than it's worth.
For a 60k inverstment, I would think some that could have gone to having disc brakes. Two tachs, lots of flash and the gas tank is still in the cab. It's a nice paint job. It is pretty. If I had the cash laying around I wouldn't buy it, and no jealousy here, I just don't see the quality in this build. It definitely looks like money was thrown at it. It could have been better engineered, which is what separates an 'assembly' from a 'build.' For that kind of money it should look less 'prototype.' The exhaust routing looks like a 'rhut-rho' just for starters. The oval air cleaner looks like it will leave witness marks on the firewall. With the electric fans they could easily move the engine/tranny forward and that also solves the ridiculous shifter placement in the cab.
I do like the color.
I've only seen a Mexican TJ muffler shop hang the mufflers like that is just pitiful.
Then say it has that much money in it or just BS for a selling point.
If you were paying restoration shop prices and buying all NOS, I'm sure you could get that much money into one. Doesn't mean it's worth that though. My guess is it would be lucky to see 20,000 on a Barrett Jackson auction. And if I had an extra 20,000 to spend, that's not what I would spend it on.
Over all I think it is a nice truck. Says 60k invested but they are asking 40 and will take less with the make offer. To me thats a 17 to 22 k truck. I love the wheel and tire choice; ribbed front tire is spot on and looks perfect. Lower the truck 4 inches all the way around and it would look killer. I'll pass on the hood and pretty much the entire exhaust system. IMO, the door panels should have matched the rest of the interior as well as the column closeout. Tac could have been implemented into the f600 cluster so he wouldn't have had to drill holes in a nice dash pad. Trying to figure out what is bolted to the upper firewall/cowl interface top center? Switch?
Judging by the looks of this truck, a lot of the $60,000.00 was bad money spent. No telling what the cost of pin-striping the under carriage cost. (bad money) The exhaust system is just plain ugly. (more bad money) The hood scoop for some reason it does not look perfectly centered. (still, bad money)
But wait, it does have an under dash 8-track player. (wiring and installation = bad money)
Polished door panels = bad money.
Body emblems, front fenders and tailgate not original and = bad money.
Agreeing on the placement of engine, could have come forward some.
Nice truck, but a lot of "Bad Money" was spent.
"Bad Money" is also what was spent on trial and error. Doing stupid things first then trying to correct it later. A lot of guys do this, not all count it as money invested in the final product. Unless your trying to deceive the un-educated.
Engine location is fine; the further back the better the handling characteristics. Just put on the correct air cleaner. The one he has on there looks stupid on a single carb; those are for dual carb setups. Just put a round one on and be done.
Moving the bob-weight a bit forward is not going to worsen the performance of the stock Twin I-Beam setup noticeably. I mean, c'mon, it's a tractor suspension. Yet another place they could have dumped some of that $60k to much better effect. I agree ovals are for 2x4 or 3x2 and look 'poser' on a 4V. I do, though, applaud anyone who understands that those little tiny air filters just barely bigger than the throat opening actually rob HP for the sake of looking 'cool.' That being said, I doubt that thought crossed their mind. Just a lot of wtf with that ride. Anybody can blow through cash. Proof positive.
It didn't even have a 3G alt. The owner must have more money than brains. If that thing is worth $60K then HIO, your truck must be worth $200K-220K. Pinstripping on the arms? What a waste of time and labor.
