"Have had a lot of lookers expecting too much."
I don't know what they are seeing that I'm not, but from the photos is seems like a pretty good buy for the money. Not sure why the hood has external latches on the back corners and a bungee on the front but I am sure that those are not major issues...of course there is the Chevy driveline.
Looks like he put a little effort in the interior. Hard to see much of anything in the pictures. When I first saw your post I was afraid it was Crazywheels. But his is red and white.
It either has a 5 gallon bucket of poorly sanded bondo in it mounted on a junk frame, or it's a smokin deal. Panels that appear to be that decent bring quite a bit more. The ones I have looked at anyway.
Based upon the painters tape still attached to the interior paneling, I'm guessing the obvious overspray is indicative of the overall paint job. Maybe that is the reference for the, "expecting too much", comment. The interior looks like the best part of the build but no alterations were made to the donor seating. I would consider it a project vehicle, at best, and treat it like it doesn't run. Chevy drive train and sub frame could be a good thing, or, again based on the paint, a lot of work to do right.
Definitely a, "buyer be ware".
It's kind of funny how a vehicle can get picked apart so easily when you don't have a clue who owns it but when a guy introduces himself on here and says HI , I'm new to the forum but have been lurking around here for the last couple months and think you guys are the greatest things on earth, I'd like to show you what I'm working on, what do you guys think?
And everyone responds and says what a wonderful project you have, what are your plans, great solid starter, looks like you got yourself a great deal, you're going to fit right in here and you've come to the best site with the most friendly guys around, not like those other places on the net. Sure glad you could join us.

You're right. If somebody buys it and logs in we'll immediately get all unconditionally supportive.
Drove 14 hours to pick up a truck that appeared very nice but was nothing like the PICs. (brother FTE forum member BTW). Forever suspicious of anything that looks like a steal but fails to sell quickly.

Its sort of like how when you walk in a store and people are super nice, holding doors, friendly nods, so what about this weather? Then they hop in a car and it all changes, speeding up to not let others merge, honking horns and flipping people off.

I think the difference is: Joe introduction is saying: here I am, this is what I have and will be working with. I have taken the effort to find you and hope we will have a mutually rewarding relationship.
Joe, I'm selling my truck, is not coming into the group, nor is he looking for companionship or assistance. He's selling the truck. Since he went public he has opened the vehicle up to the varying and ever fickle fate of public opinion.

The hinges on the back of the hood is keep that part of the hood dowmpn. All of us 53-56 owners know that is a problem.
