I have got an offer for a rear axle with locking diff.and now i wonder how much other parts should be delivered with it.I've just sen a picture of a switch on the inside and the axle. Are there other components to it,?
What type of locking rear axle?
An OEM Ford locking diff?
I'm pretty sure the OE offering is an electric locker. In stock form it would be controlled by the PCM. But, you can simply wire it to a switch and relay, just make sure you pay attention to when, where, and how you activate it.
All of that is assuming that all of the components are present on the axle and that you don't care if there is an indicator light inside the truck or not. You could make an indicator work, just a little more wiring.
You say you have an offer for an axle. That means your selling something to me. OK, but then it sounds like you ordered one from someone or somewhere? One what? Center section carrier parts or a whole loaded axle? Also we don't see any pictures?
We're here to help but dont understand your question. What are you attempting to do? What rear end, What vehicle, what engine/trans, what chassis....I dont mean to sound condescending but online help requires spoon-feed crystal clear info... Otherwise its a guessing game on our end and wasting time on yours. Get specific then we can assist you better.
Yes, after reading the question again I am even more confused. I read it to mean you had made an offer on a whole rear axle with an OE locking diff. But that may or may not be correct...
