Clutch maybe

My 91 302 5speed 4wd shakes horribly when I let the clutch out it knocks everything off the dash

It doesn't do anything abnormal while the clutch is pressed or let out it just shakes while it is being engaged

I know the clutch is toast and last time I pulled the back of the transmission off it was filled with powdered metal so it's getting pulled apart soon anyway

Sounds like it has oil on it. The 302 flywheel bolts are through holes to the crankcase so you have to use sealer on them.

30 odd years back I didn't know that. I went through a couple clutches on my old 70 F100 because of oil getting on the clutch. It would be smooth for about the first week, then chatter like a mother after that.

It could just be wore out or the sprung hub is damaged.

I'm about 200 miles from home right now and it's gotten real bad now but I have a new disk at home if it is the hub

Flywheel chatter off the top of my head. Have the flywheel checked/cut while you're in there.

mine would shake the truck like that, but it was more so when trying to engage the clutch smoothly while loaded up. All the clutch material was worn down, and the rivets were eating into the flywheel.

Back from bootcamp I went and drove it to Tucson again on the way in it started slipping real bad on the way back I hit a traffic jam and it started slipping real bad again I pulled the flywheel it's all just a burn spot now and after taking some measurements I figured out its warped into the shape of a Pringles chip I think the shaking shook loose the bell housing bolts or they were loose already and were causing the shaking either way it should be fixed as soon as I can figure out why the clutch won't bleed
