08 F-350 Lariat. Folded mirrors in twice today. Second time they would not come back out. After four hours the fold function has not returned. As I read Owner's Manual, if it's a fuse it should take out power to driver's seat . . . correct? All other mirror functions including telescope seem to work normally. So if I've identified the fuse correctly what else could it be? Fold relay? Switch? Where is the fold relay located and how can one test it? What pins on the switch are the fold pins? TIA
OOPS! just looked at power distribution box schematic. Power fold mirror relay fuse is there. Apparently the only function it has. Better go check it out.

Reason: new and additional info
When you operate the power fold switch, can you hear anything?
There are two sounds to listen for...
1. The relay coil clicking, and then
2. The tiny power fold motor whirring.
If you hear the relay clicking, and the motor whirring, but see no folding movement in the mirrors, then you can safely rule out electrical. It is a mechanical failure.
One way the PowerScope power folding mirrors fail mechanically is due to a plastic drive gear stripping where it is attached to the knurled shaft of the worm gear. Once the inside of the plastic driver gear strips, then it can no longer drive the worm gear that folds the mirrors.
If this issue happens to be the cause of your power fold mirror failure, you will hear a little whirring sound as the electric motor spins the drive gear in place, without actually turning the worm gear shaft.
IronCobra, I can't conceive that both mirrors went bad at once. I feel certain that this has to be a relay, switch or wiring problem.
Y2KW57, I hear no sound at all.
I did check the fuse. It is OK.
Thanks!
I'm still wondering where that relay is located. I thought perhaps it'd be in the Power Distribution Box under the hood, but if it is, it's not named in the owner's manual.
No continuity between pins 1 (B+) and pin 4 (power fold toggle) also cannot lower either main mirror. All together means something let go in the pull rearward position of this switch.

Years later, I am experiencing the same issue. However, in addition have you noticed the daytime running light in the mirror also was not working properly on both sides? The blinkers in each mirror work properly along with everything else except power-folding in. Im about to check the relay and fuse although I'm ruling out the fuse being that I read that the driver's seat controls wouldn't work either if that fuse was out? Let me know if you still use this or even remember, thanks!
Sometimes you have to get out and yank t hem into place to catch the gear. Mainly to stay open but they aren't going to stay folded.
I leave my mirrors open since I live in wide open spaces but if you take out a few things with them it happens.
