Power mirrors (both) on a 2001 F-150 would work in 3 directions just not down (again same for both mirrors). Figured had to be the switch so I took it off and cleaned it up. Replaced and still no down and in the process of tinkering with it, both mirrors stopped working all together. I figured I messed up the switch and bought a new one from the dealer. Plugged in the new switch and still no movement on either mirror. I have a wiring diagram and tested for power; not getting any. Replaced the relay #4 and still no power. I don't get it.
Update:
O.K. I am pretty annoyed at this so I have been working at it (despite it being 19 degrees outside..no garage)
I tested the relay to sure they are functioning......checked out o.k.
I then using a voltmeter found the power for the power windows. Using jumper wires I stole the power window 12V power and put it into the mirror. Long story short I got both mirrors to work. This tells me there is no power coming into the mirrors via the wire that is supposed to provide power. Also I know all other circuitry is O.K. since mirrors worked fine.
I need to find the other end of the wire to test continuity, or I can just splice in to the power window wire to get the power...which is kind of 1/2 a$$ed. Any thoughts??
Thank you very much. However this is not the one I am looking for. I think that is my fault, I did not provide enough information. I have an 01 Supercab 4.6l with power only. No heat, no turn signal. There are 4 wires coming out of the Right hand mirror. 2 yellow, purple and a green. Im trying to determine if I can modify another mirror to work on my truck. It looks like the yellows are grounds and the purple and green drive the direction. Thanks for your help.
This it? I couldnt find one for a 2001 so I searched 2002 and found this one that says "prior to" That date, so maybe it's the same as the 2001. I see purple (violet) and yellow wires on there so maybe it will be useful somehow. Good luck

hi there, I know this is an old post, but just curious how you tested the mirrors (jumper wires). Is something you could describe to me so that I can try it? I have power to the switch itself, but the nothing at the directional contacts on the plug🤦🏼♀️
maybe this will help me determine whether or not the mirrors are still working. At least I’ll feel like I’m making progress🤣
