AWD Mileage Issue
What damage would I casue if I removed the shaft from the front end on the AWD unit. I would like to pick a few mpg on a long trip. Since its hot as heck and I dont off road, I am sure I dont need the awd right now.

I don't know if you'd damage anything. What mpg are you getting? My 96 5.0 AWD gets over 20. I don't know how much you'd improve, but I doubt it would be worth the hassle.
