Okay all, I've googled til I can google no longer.
I've got a C6 for a Windsor that is 4x2, and just picked up a good 4x4 unit from an '87 6.9 truck. Can I use the guts from the diesel to convert my 4x2 into 4x4 (while beefing it up at the same time), or will it not work/be practical? I've read the diesel shifts firmer and has more clutches. I do plan on retaining the small block torque converter, in case anyone thinks I'm getting too ahead of myself. Essentially I'd be taking the diesel C6 and swapping to a smallblock case and TC.
