I have been having issues with coolant loss through my degas bottle for some time now. I have replaced the cap to no avail. I have been testing things to determine the issue and I believe i have narrowed it down to either the egr cooler having a leak, or the oil cooler being plugged up and not allowing the proper amount of coolant to circulate through the egr cooler. Either way I plan to delete the egr cooler and replace the oil cooler. I also have an injector that is giving me fits so I am planning to replace it also. It seems to only be the one since I do get codes related to cylinder 2 most of the time when I hook up the computer to it. Also when the engine is cold I can turn the injectors off and on with my program and number 2 is the only one that you cannot tell you turned it off while it is missing. So pretty sure that is the one that is my problem.
So here is my question, without spending a years salary but still getting good components what items should I be looking at? I have found that for the oil cooler the OEM version is the most recommended. But when it comes to the delete kit and the injector I find a lot of mixed information. I am sure i will get some here too but I figured it would at least give me something to use to start looking.
Where should I get the replacement injector since from what I understand, Ford no longer sells new ones? Several places offer remanufactured injectors but it is hard to tell which ones might be factory remanufactured.
Your local Dealer or White Bear Lake (an online dealer with reduced prices) or Ed at FICM has Ford I believe. You are correct, they are all remans now, whoever supplies the OEM has access to all the internal parts and replaces rather than polishes the internals. 24mo warranty also.
