05-07 Grille

Has anyone fitted a 05-07 grill to their 00-03 truck? I read some where they make a modified 05-07 grill for this mod.
If so what's need for the fit?
Can they be purchased in Aus?
Has anyone done the Zoodad mod and how did it go? did it let much more air into the intake?
Also has anyone fitted one of these, http://www.dieselsite.com/maxacassis...4-200373l.aspx

Blue,
Can't help with the grill but I have fitted the "Max AC" thing,
as well as the "Cold Rush" kit.

Both are highly recommended.

Simple instal and it works as claimed.

Thanks BrianB , what's the "Cold Rush" kit? Is that part of the A/C kit.

My mechanic has the 05-07 grille on his Aus delivered truck, it should be the same process for changing it as it is for LHD models.

No it's an extra, well worth it if you drive in places
like S.A. 40+ degrees outside.

Thanks for the link Brian, that sounds like i will need that in place when we eventually do the round the block trip.

BF350, did you happen to see the clearance from the lower end of the grille to the front bar.
I have a ARB bar on and the 03 grille does go close to it, and also the stock grille sits lower than the bar, so I'm not sure if it going to be too fat to fit in between the body and the bar.
The 05-05 grille seems to be a lot deeper than the 03 grille, just from photos.

He replaced the bumper as well with an 05-07 item as well, which are interchangeable.

I know if you want to retain the 03 bumper, you need to trim the bottom of the grille. I don't know what the clearance is like on your ARB bar, but if its close to the current grille, you may need to trim either the 05+ grille or the ARB bar to make it fit.

Yeah that's what I'm not sure about the clearance on the 03 and the ARB fr bar.
I see you can buy 05-07 grille that have had the bottom cut already, i just wished i knew the depth of that lower section . looks like I'll have to be the guinea pig again.

Blue - just thought I would mention, yesterday I overtook an effie on the Fwy and noticed he had the 05-07 grille with the same ARB bar as yours, and there didn't seem to be any cutting on the grille (don't know about the bar itself)

Probably done about 10,000km since its been converted and about 106,000 in total.

I really like the truck, but there have been a number of small issues - all have been associated with the conversion - for example one of the A/C pipes currently has cracked at a weld. Definitely if I've had my time again, I'd get it converted in Aus, so you could get some support from the conversion place.

Hey Blue,

No special mods needed. My truck came to me with a 05 grill already installed in it mate. Fits just like the standard ones. Just some small tabs on the bottom that need attention.
