Going to hang a snow plow on my 2011 f250, it did not come with the plow prep package so I have been looking into swapping in the plow prep coil springs (6000lb rating).
Looking up the current springs on my front end the part # is 5C34-5310-AGB which is a 4400lb spring for a 5.4l. My truck is a early build 6/2010 I believe, but why do I have 5.4l springs on my 2011 6.2l? I thought 4x4 6.2l had no less than 5200lb springs in the front.
And are all the coil springs interchangeable from 2005-2016 superduties? so when I order my plow prep springs will 6.2l f250 springs fit when I have 5.4l f250 springs on currently?
Ford lists 4400 lb springs for some 2011 6.2l configurations. The particular part apparently is used for multiple applications. When I was researching front coils for my 2011 6.2l I ended up at an aftermarket truck spring company (SDTruckSprings.com ?), But you could just go to Ford and order the coils you want from 4400-6000. I opted to add airbags inside my 5600lb coils for plowing, which has worked out well.

RJ thanks for the response, I was checking some things out on sdtrucksprings.com also.
Is your 2011 an f350 or f250? if it is an f250 did you swap the 2" rear block to a taller 4" or f350 rear axle block?
I think I'm going to get the oem 6000lb coil, but my truck sits almost perfectly level now so I'm going to need to install a taller block in the rear.
It's an F250 with the camper package, which is identical rear suspension as an F350 - taller blocks, overload spring, and sway bar.
I don't know if 6000 lb springs will affect ride height much without the plow, but with 2" blocks on the rear that may be a consideration. FYI, my 7.5' Western plow at 800 lbs will lower the front about an inch with the 5600 lb coils and airbags deflated. Most importantly, the blue airbags look cool

That's correct - the heavier springs will not raise the truck; it will just help the sag when you have the plow on.
I put the 6,000 lb springs on my 2006 F350 finally a few years ago. I have a Western MVP with wings that would scrap on dips when just driving around. The heavier springs reduced the sag by maybe 1.5" to 2" when the plow is up.
I bought the springs from the Ford dealer and had someone install them.

If it will not raise ride hide then that's great news because I thought the 6k springs raised the front about an inch and really don't want to have to raise the rear of the truck to compensate
