Can anyone beat Matt Kenseth in the points championship. If he stays on pace it will be another championship for ford. I don't think that we will get 7 drivers in the top 10 this year like we did last year. Go ford!

That Ford he is driving may be a Chevy next year. The only relationship between a Cup car and a production car is a few cosmetics. Yes, I think he will win because with the current point system all he has to do is finish races in the top ten.

If Kenseth stays with Jack Roush, then I think there's not much chance of him driving a Chevy... Roush has long been associated with the Blue Oval and I can't see him switching after a championship season.

I do, however, have to point out that the differences between a WC car and a production model of the same are as different as the sun and the moon. The most obvious one is that a production Taurus is a front-wheel drive four-door car that comes with a V6 and an automatic transmission. A WC race car is a car that is fabricated to approximate the look of a two-door Taurus, and it has a 700 HP V8 engine, a four-speed manual transmission, and rear-wheel drive. I have driven a stock car at a NASCAR driving school, and although they are a bit "detuned", they can still outrun any production sedan out there.

Dodge Intrepids are much the same as the Taurus... four-door, front-drive, V6 auto. The Monte Carlo and Grand Prix are both 2-door coupes, but again are front-drivers. The main component of any "stock" car used in NASCAR that can be identified as coming from a particular automaker is the engine. A car that is identified as a Ford must use a Ford engine block and components, Dodge cars must use a Chrysler setup, and so on.

Interestingly, you can approximate a NASCAR Craftsman Truck with a production vehicle... rear-driven, V8 power, and a manual transmission.

Just my opinion... not meant to start any wars.

There is nothing Ford, Chevy, Dodge or otherwise about these cars. They are all identical clones, and whoever is lucky and has a good day wins. Not fun to watch at all anymore. It's no longer Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge because they all run the same. And if they don't, NASCAR will throw a restrictor plate on them and make them run the same. Stupid...

I am aware the all the cars and motors are custom built. I'm pretty sure that there are mo motorcraft parts on any fords. We have to pretend that there are some ford, chevy, and dodge parts on the respective cars.

all them cars start out hangin on the metal racks in their garages built piece by piece bodys are formed to fit templets for their particular make to fit templets mandated by NASCAR when one make seems to have a distinct advantage nascar will start trying to even the field out by giving some more downforce by adding more spoiler or taking it away from others ect. ect. nascar added restrictor plates to keep them from doin 230+mph like awesum Bill did tracks cant hold um issue now is saftey after #3 at daytona and a few before him
