It should work out OK. I swapped out the SRW rear axle on my 1964 F250 Cab and Chassis with a dual axle out of a 1985 F350 welding truck (cab and chassis). Everything lined up on frame and the axle. Did not even have to move the perches. The axle that went is was a Sterling 10.25. The yoke was a different size and went to NAPA to get a U Joint that would match up the driveline size to the size in the yoke. I could get the driveline in but it was a very tight fit with no play so I wound up cutting about 3/4" off the splines inside the first connector. Another problem was the emergency brake cables. The 64 had both cables the same length and were run down the center of the truck. The 85 had the brake cables run down the frame on the driver side so one long cable and one short cable. I wound up using two right side cables for the new Sterling axle and running them to the center of the truck and using the 64 brake handle and front cable.
