the first one i had was an original EZscan it was from before the 1000 days.bought it around 86 or so to read the ford EEC-IV, and also used it on gm's until it would not read the 94-95 trucks with both ports under hood and under dash,then i got the ez4000. then in 02 i got the ex6000 to read the new diesels.

The only pre-96 Ford trucks with an OBD-2 port under the dash are the 7.3 PSD trucks. Certain scan tools work will work with that port, not all of them.
Certain 95 and earlier Ford cars had an OBD-2 port under the dash, but it wasn't hooked up to anything. It only had power ran to it.
