Well...since he hasn't been back to check in since posting his question, I'd say they already found the problem and he doesn't need all the advice we've given so there's noting to be gained by keeping this thread alive, except that perhaps the advice given here will be a help to others who come across it in a search.
Not sure about the jeckel aspect though. Perhaps you meant jackals? Plenty of them on here!
I've been out of pocket for the past week or so. The last time this question was asked, someone said " with out siphon, the fuel will not run out of the tank". I now agree!
I rebuild the carb on my green truck, replaced all rubber lines, added a fuel filter under the cab, and a Mr. Gasket see thru filter at the carb. I took the guts out of it so it is basically a sight glass. I can see the fuel getting to the carb and what color it is.
The truck would not crank. I wire cloths hangered the hard line from tank to rubber line as well as the hard line in the tank. Hit the electric fuel pump and there was the fuel in my sight glass. Hit the key and BAM, she lit up.
