I need to replace the shackle and mount on my 2001 Ranger. Thoughts on brands? I'm in Ohio so we get rust promoters every winter (salt, salt and more salt).
Looks like I can't message you because of your low post count. Feel free to send me an email or give me a call at our toll free number. I will make sure to supply you with Forum Pricing.
Yeah, it looks like i have until next monday before private messages are available. Where might I find your email? Directly through the ATS website? I saw the shackles listed but I didn't see the mounts.
If the mount is riveted on have a grinder and air hammer ready!
I had to replace a hanger on my old F250, I ground the heads off the rivets then used the air hammer to pop the hanger off the frame, made it much easier. The old leaf spring bushings and bolts can often be a beach too.
I did the rear spring brackets and shackles on my 2002 last fall. Advance auto had the kits for $45 for each side. Took about an hour per side. Hardest part was getting the old bushings out of the spring, had to heat with a torch and twist them out.
I just got my spring hanger and shackles from ATS. Thick metal just like the OEM. Unlike Dorman(advance, napa etc) that were only about 2/3 as thick as Original.
Also came with all grade 8 hardware to mount the hanger and grade 8 hardware for the sponge and shackle eyes
