I have purchased a ford f100 the person who sold it to me did not have a title, but he wrote me a bill of sales. I have applied for the title and on the bill of sales he listed as a 1964, but when I added to my insurance and I gave them the vin # the said it was a 1965. How can I actually tell? I have read the articles on this site the past couple of days and it looks like a great information highway. PS a redneck from Mississippi so excuse the spelling as I could not find the spell check button.
for FORD owners.
Oh -- never forget, the VIN plate are often woefully incorrect, and sometime even completely from a different vehicle. I've seen drvier side doors swaped, with the VIN in place, and then 20 years later, confusion reigns!!!!
Thanks for the quick response I checked the suggested web page and I have a 1965 ford f100. I am glad because I wanted to put power steering on ot and from what I've read in the fourm it is easier on the 65 than the 64.
