ive done a little research but not as much as need be probably. was wondering if anybody knows anything in the works for complete stroker kits for the coyote? 347 preferably
347 is what you get out of the old 5.0 with a 3.4" stroker.
The Coyote motor has a longer stroke but a smaller bore than the old motor.
(92.2mm (3.629 in) and 92.7mm (3.649 in).
I would venture to say this would be a very expensive thing to do, as this motor is pretty tuned up as OEM, and according to some articles, a pretty picky motor when it comes to thinks like sensor placement.
Wait for the 5.2 L to start hitting the junkyards, more bore, more stroke.
5.2l? im ot up to date on these newer motors. my 2014 5.0 is the only new truck ive ever purchased. the rest have been 80's and 90's f150s rangers and jeeps for the sheer simplicity of them. is the 5.2l a standard ford motor?
I can't imagine any VooDoo engine that ends up in a wrecking yard won't be immediately sold. I've never even seen a 05+ mustang of any model in any of the junkyards I've been to.
It may be too soon for GT350's to be scrapped; I'm thinking most of them are in collectors' hands, or racers who would rebuild them as needed. Any that do get scrapped are probably damaged beyond repair.
But I would think the power curve of the Voodoo engine would be wrong for a truck. Trucks need their max torque to occur at low rpms, and few work around 8000 rpm on a regular basis.
Since this is a Coyote forum, I'm wondering if there should be a Voodoo forum?
