I have a 1999 Ford F350 Crew cab dually with about 130K miles on the engine" the "Service engine" light started coming on, then it would run choppy, then the light would go off the engine will accelerate while driving down the road, if it's idling when the light goes off, it starts idling rough. I put a new fuel pump in it, and dropped the tank and found the pick up tube disintegrated in the tank, and I cleaned the filters in the pickup, and put a new sock on it. It is still doing the same thing. I am going to check the fuel pressure tomorrow, but, I did take the filter off, and got a strong 3/8" stream which filled the canister quickly, so I doubt there is a fuel pressure problem. SOmetimes when I pull up to a traffic light, the service engine light will go out, and it will die, when I start it back up, the light is back on. Any ideas? I know one of you Powerstroke gurus will be able to tell me what is going on, Lol
Have you had the codes read? That would be a great starting point. It could be a number of things, your CPS, your UVCH connections etc. what lead you to think it was a fueling issue originally?
No codes, that was the first thing I checked, should have put that in my post, And I thought it was fuel related, because there were no codes, and the way it would just die sometimes, I will be checking all connections today.
