I just noticed some cracks in the casting of the two pulley harmonic balancer on my 1953 215 ohv six. A few minutes online has suggested to me that finding a solid replacement might be a problem. I read that a two pulley balancer from a 223 will work. Can anyone corroborate this? Better yet, does anyone have one for sale or trade. I am getting ready to turn loose some extra F100 parts, including door inspection panels in primo condition. Anyone want to trade for a balancer?
My book only goes to 56, but it shows 215 and 223 both use the same 2-pulley sheave with damper. The number is hard to read but appears to be B2TZ-6312-A, and I get nothing when searching on it. Looks like the two pulley sheave was used only on larger trucks.

Thanks, JR Joe and Albuqf-1, that part number will help. Since these same balancers were used on some 223s from '54-'56, I'm optimistic that I'll find one eventually. Just curious about something: I suspect that the crack in the casting has been there for quite some time. What kind of risk do you figure I'm taking if I continue using it? It looks like the large balance ring would hold it together...I should add that the rubber looks a little funky
A follow-up: I'm holding the balancer that's been on the engine since I got the truck in 1974. I see it shows a part number that appears to read BAG 6316 A. What do you suppose is up with that?
