Mile Marker Splines

I ordered a set of Mile Marker Hubs (449SS) and went to install them but the splines aren't the same as the factory hubs. They are a finer, full v shaped spline. Did I order wrong or receive a mis-packaged product? Installing on an 04 V10.

Just double checked threads like the one below:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ubs-cheap.html

Seems like a mispackaged part because the part numbers all match up online and whats written on your box. Bummer...

they are right...i did mine 2 weeks ago. called customer service and he said they get this call all the time. install at a slight angle bottom first...ever so slightly tilted down. takes some wiggling but they will go in.

Same here. I thought they looked strange, but they went in and work without any issues.

Thanks. That's why I asked before returning them. The splines really don't look like they would mesh & I did try to slide one in the hub but didn't spend much time on it because of what looks like a spline difference. I'm going to do the install today.

If anyone with Mile Markers is going to throw away that little orange handle thing, I'll pay postage for it. I'd like to make a small t handle with it because my center caps are kinda deep and it can be a challenge to get my fingers in there to turn the hubs.

It took me a couple of days to sneak back out to the garage, but I did get these installed. I should have put a little more effort into the install instead of going by appearance!
