I have aa 84 F250 Diesel (6.9) Great truck!Im looking to raise the front by 2"-2.5" . I can acquire a set of front leaf springs from a F350. Will this give me the desired height with out throwing of the whole geometry.
If you have a TTB setup(front axle is not solid), any change in height between the axle and frame will affect your geometry. You can lift the cab from the frame by a bit, because that won't affect the frame-axle dimensions.
If you have a solid axle, you can do it without issue.
Yea no solid Axle its a TTB. So even the slightest change in leaf spring adding or stiffening to gain just a few inches won't work? You recommend a small body lift?
a body lift causes more issues than it will fix. Add a leaf and camber bushings will raise the suspension and won't mess up linkages and the alignment between the bumpers and body. Ford had a repair for sagged leaf springs which was an add a leaf. I plan on adding some to mine as well. any competent alignment shop can replace the camber bushings.
I think I'll try an add a leaf and get them camber bushings done. I just thought since a F350 had stiffer leafs that it would work for my F250 and bring it back to respectable height.
I have a 93 F350 That has been sitting for almost 4 years. The reason I parked her was due to some wiring to the back getting pulled from a harness. So I put in 2 batteries and 5 gallons of fuel then tried to start. I'm getting no fuel to the filter after cranking several times. Tomorrow I'm going to add some more fuel to see if the pump will pick it up if not I guess a new pump will be in order. Any other suggestions on on things to check while I'm under the hood.
She ran good when I parked her with about 195K on the clock, not sure what the po did and I only drove her for about 2 weeks after the purchase. I had a 96PSD so im somewhat familiar with the 7.3 but the IDI is a little different beast.
