Trying to replace the quarter panel speakers help !
So I'm new to this forum I have a 2000 excursion black v10 2wd I finally convinced my dad to let me have her I've been wanting to replace the speakers and the door speakers are no problem but idk how to replace the quarter panel speakers so if anyone knows how to I'd really appreciate it if y'all could let me know how to
I replaced mine by myself in the garage at home at few years ago. You do not have to completely remove the large plastic molding that cover those speakers but you do have to pull them away enough to be able to work behind them.
On the drivers side you will need to remove the spare tire and some of the left rear door rubber gasket. The molding is only held in with clips so you should be able to grab it and pull to dislodge it. Once you do one side, the other side is basically the same.
But go ahead and check for any screws as it has been a long time since I did this. You might also have to remove the seat belt bolts (large torx, I think around size 50) so if you do make sure you have the correct socket before you start the project. Harbor Freight is a great place to get the large torx set if you don't already have one.
Good luck....
