Traveling cross country & got a check engine light telling me "injector control pressure low". Replaced ICP sensor and injector pressure control regulator. Removed old one and installed the new one.
While looking for one of the nuts that attach the glow plug relay in the valley I found a small round part looks like maybe a valve seat. About 1/2" round with maybe a 1/4" four flute spline in the center. Has an o-ring on one end.
Is this something that followed the old ICPR out and fell off the end when It cleared the mounting hole? It looks like the ICPR would bear against this little thing.
Sure would appreciate some of you experts wisdom on this. I have to drive from OK to CA. Thursday and I don't want any trouble on the road.
IIRC it goes to the IPR (not the ICP). A new one should have come with your IPR if you bought a new one from Ford. It's been awhile since I replaced my IPR (just did the ICP). My guess is that it might be the one off the old IPR when you removed it.
Hopefully someone else will chime in and confirm or debunk me.
Thanks for the response Brian. Worked all morning on the truck to resolve this issue and I finally figured it out. The mystery part was the valve seat in the fuel filter body. The valve that controls fuel pressure.
I'm still getting a check engine light though. I also have developed an oil leak somewhere it the rear area of the valley. Probably turbo pedestal or maybe EBPV solenoid. May be related to injector control pressure low code.
