Can I install Upfitter Switches in my 16 F250. I asked the Salesman when I purchased my truck, and he says that they have to be factory installed. I have heard that they can be easily added from another source. TNX
1. Read your manual. 2. Talk to service writer or service mgr. On 2015 and prior years it has been possible to use to up-fitter switches for many different uses. I use #4 to turn a solenoid on or off to control my auxiliary fuel tank. It is not a cake walk but doable with a little effort.

Talk to someone that knows about the trucks. I was told the same about cruise. Most add on's are plug and play And really cheap, Don's added the cruise without cost to me

Alarms too but sometimes you do need to have the truck's computer set up. Parts are plug and play for most models.
Ok so I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in here. I just installed the upfitters in my 15. All the forums were helpful along with the youtube videos but they didn't tell me exactly what I wanted to know about installing the relay and running the harness. I bought the truck new in Sept and I tried to do all my homework before I started the project hoping to save myself multiple trips across the garage to retrieve the tool I threw in a fit of anger and frustration! The ford service bulletins are helpful but don't give any illustrations and are very vague as to what goes where. It is tricky to install if you are a bigger guy. First the headlight switch pulls out and the relay will mount right next to the tow module behind it. Pulling the headlight switch makes it easier to get the screws in to hold it in place. The plug is located slightly to the right of the steering column and you have to be a bit of a contortion artist to get the dummy plug out to plug your harness in. Pull your power port and aux port by popping with a screwdriver then remove the screws behind them. Once those 2 screws are out pull the panel to add your switches. I installed ground on right hand side of gas pedal so it's easy to get to and you don't see it also using existing holes that dash is mounted on. I should add the that my kit did not give me screws to mount relay to brakets. They are the same size as the dash screws and I found them at Lowes in the automotive fastener cabinet. When it's over I found it was well worth all the frustration and effort to have it look factory and not have to drill holes for toggles in my new truck! Good luck!

I got my kit from a Dealer on ebay, and my son in law helped me partially install them. He managed to get plugged into the main harness, connect the Ground lug, and snaking the harness to the upfitter switch was the easiest part. We used a coat hanger wire as a Snake and pulled it through the first time. The only problem is we could not get our hands up under the dash to mount the Relay Box, even with the bottom, and end panels removed. The dealership will screw in the relay tomorrow as per a deal we made.
